Apprenticeship subsidy for 2022
02 Feb 22
The federal government will expand its apprenticeship wages subsidies program to also cover apprentices in their second and third years.
Currently, eligible employers get a 50 percent wage subsidy paid to first-year apprentices who started work between October 5, 2020 and March 31, 2022. But from October 2021, eligible employers receive a 10 percent wage subsidy for second-year apprentices and five percent for third-year apprentices.
The subsidy is paid over a 12-month period, with a maximum of $7,000 per quarter.
